Giving Back

In 2001 Tracy became involved with two great charitable organizations. For some time, she had wanted to give back in some way. It was while attending a party that Tracy realized just how she could give back doing what she loves. At this party she ran into a friend that she hadn't seen for quite some time. This friend had always had very long hair, but to Tracy's surprise, his hair was now short. After inquiring as to why he had chosen to go short he told her that he had donated his hair to “Locks of Love”. His description of this nonprofit organization peaked her curiosity.

After arriving back home that night, Tracy visited the "Locks of Love" website to research how she could get involved with this nonprofit organization. She began offering free haircuts to those willing to donate their hair. Tracy still offers that service, and has added another charity, “Wigs for Kids”. Donating a large portion of hair can be traumatic for anyone and Tracy has discovered that she has a talent for easing the anxiety associated with such a decision. As tracy says, "I want to comfort the client and make their contribution to a great cause as wonderful of an experience as it has been for me".
